Your Buyer Profile and Broker Page
Brokers get pitched by a lot of people who never close. Your buyer profile is a clean, shareable page that shows you're a serious buyer at a glance. You edit it once, then paste the link into your outreach so brokers can size you up before they reply.
What's in your buyer profile
Your profile pulls together who you are and what you're looking to buy into one place. It includes:
- Name and location: your full name plus the city and state you're based in.
- Headline: a one-line tagline under your name, like "Self-funded searcher targeting HVAC in the Southeast."
- Photo: an avatar you upload and crop in the app.
- LinkedIn and website links: shown as pill buttons brokers can click to verify you.
- About me: a short bio in your own words. This is the same bio that goes into your NDA outreach emails.
- Capital structure: the equity and debt capacity you're working with, shown as ranges. Your exact dollar figures are never published on the public page.
- Buy-box descriptions: a short narrative for each active buy box that tells brokers what you're hunting for.
Editing your profile
Open your profile from the avatar menu in the top right or from the Profile link in settings. Both land you on the same editor.
Head to Settings, then Profile. You'll edit each section right on the page: your name and location, your headline and links, your about-me, your capital structure ranges, and the description for each buy box. Capital figures format with dollar signs and commas as you type, so they stay easy to read.
If you go to /profile, you'll be redirected straight to this same editor.
Uploading and cropping your avatar
A real photo makes your profile far more credible than a blank circle. Adding one takes a few seconds.
- Click your avatar at the top of the profile editor.
- Pick an image file. JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF all work, up to 5 MB.
- A crop window opens. Drag to reposition and use the slider to zoom in or out until the framing looks right.
- Click Save. Your new photo appears right away on your profile, in the header menu, and on your public page.
Editing the buy-box descriptions brokers see
Each active buy box gets its own description on your profile. These are the narratives brokers read to understand what you're after.
We pre-fill each description from your buy-box criteria so you're never starting from a blank box. You can rewrite it in your own voice at any time. If you'd rather start over, the "Reset to auto-generated" button restores the version built from your criteria.
Once you've written your own version, it sticks. Changing the underlying buy-box filters won't overwrite a description you've edited until you reset it yourself.
How your profile feeds NDA outreach
Your profile isn't a separate island. The parts brokers care about flow straight into the emails you send them.
- Your about-me is the same bio that appears in your NDA request emails. Edit it once and your outreach stays in sync.
- Your buy-box descriptions are what NDA emails use to explain what you're looking for. When you sharpen a description on your profile, your outreach gets sharper too.
That's the point of keeping one source of truth: a single edit improves both the page brokers visit and the email that lands in their inbox.
Your public broker page and sharing the link
Your public page is a clean, read-only view of your profile that brokers can open without logging in.
Your profile starts out private. Nobody can view it until you generate a share link. In the Share section of your profile, click to generate your link, then copy it into your broker emails. Brokers who click it see your photo, headline, location, about-me, capital ranges, and buy-box descriptions, all polished and easy to skim.
You stay in control of the link the whole time:
- One active link at a time. Generating a fresh link replaces the old one, so a stale link stops working.
- Revoke anytime. Turn the link off and your page goes back to private. Anyone with the old link sees a "not found" page.
- View counts. The Share section shows how many times your page has been viewed and when it was last opened.
