This Privacy Policy describes how Searcher OS ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our platform at searcheros.ai (the "Service").

Information You Provide
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account Information: Name, email address, password, and profile details
- Business Data: Deal information, pipeline data, notes, CIM documents, financial calculations
- Payment Information: Credit card details (processed securely by Stripe)
- Communications: Messages you send to support or via contact forms
Automatically Collected Information
When you use our Service, we automatically collect:
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent, actions taken
- Device Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
- Cookies: Session tokens, preferences, analytics data
How We Use Your Information

Supabase (Infrastructure & Database)
- Hosts user data, authentication, and file storage
- Data stored in US-based servers with encryption at rest and in transit

Stripe (Payment Processing)
- Processes credit card payments securely
- We do not store full credit card numbers

OpenAI (AI Analysis)
- Powers CIM document analysis and AI features
- We send CIM document text for analysis (not stored by OpenAI per their API terms)

Vercel (Hosting)
- Hosts our web application
- Collects analytics and performance metrics

Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information to data brokers or advertisers, and we do not hand it to third parties for their own marketing. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With your consent: When you direct us to share information
- Partner introductions: When you ask us to introduce you to a partner, we share what that partner needs to reach you. See the next section
- Service providers: Third parties who perform services on our behalf (listed above)
- Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, sale, or acquisition
Partner Introductions and Referral Compensation
The Service offers optional introductions to third-party providers such as lenders, quality of earnings firms, and insurance providers. We share your information with a partner only when you ask us to make that introduction. We do not pass your details to partners in the background, and declining an introduction has no effect on your access to the Service.
When you request an introduction, we typically share:
- Your name and email address, and your phone number if you have provided one
- Context about what you are looking for, such as target deal size or financing needs
- Details about the specific deal, when you request the introduction from a deal in your pipeline
A partner who receives this information is an independent business, not a service provider acting on our behalf. Once we make the introduction, that partner handles your information under its own privacy policy, and you should review that policy before sharing anything further with them.
Searcher OS may receive a referral fee or other compensation from some partners. Because every introduction happens at your direction, we rely on the CCPA exception for personal information that a consumer intentionally directs a business to disclose. Section 9 of our Terms of Service describes how referral compensation works and how it does not affect who we recommend or what you pay.
We also record when you follow a tracked partner link, so we can attribute an introduction and reconcile any fee. That record includes your account, the partner, and the time of the click.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Row-Level Security policies to isolate user data
- Regular security audits and updates
- Access controls and authentication requirements
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights and Choices
Account Information
You can update your account information at any time via Settings. You can also request account deletion by contacting support.
Data Portability
You can export your data at any time via Settings → Data Export. We provide data in CSV format.
Marketing Communications
All accounts, including Free accounts, receive occasional newsletters, product updates, and promotional emails, which may include partner offers. You can opt out at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any marketing email or from Settings → Notifications. Opting out does not affect transactional emails such as receipts, password resets, and security alerts, which are part of the Service.
Cookies
Most browsers allow you to block cookies, but doing so may prevent you from using certain features.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
- Active accounts: Data retained indefinitely while account is active, on both Free and paid plans
- Canceled accounts: Data retained for 6 months, then permanently deleted
- Backups: May persist in backups for up to 90 days after deletion
Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn we have collected information from a child, we will delete it promptly.
International Data Transfers
Our servers are located in the United States. By using our Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your country.
California Privacy Rights
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know what personal information is collected
- Right to know if personal information is sold or disclosed
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA. See "Partner Introductions and Referral Compensation" above for how partner introductions work
- Right to request deletion of personal information
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights
