What is My Network?
My Network is your centralized address book for everyone involved in your acquisition search. Track relationships, link contacts to deals, and log all your interactions.
Contact Types
Searcher OS supports five types of contacts:
Brokers
Business brokers and intermediaries who list businesses for sale. The most common contact type.
Lenders
SBA lenders, banks, and financing partners who can fund your acquisition.
Legal & Finance
Transaction attorneys, CPAs, tax advisors, and QoE (Quality of Earnings) providers.
Owners
Business owners and sellers you've connected with directly.
Other
Industry experts, mentors, advisors, or investors. You can add a custom label.
Adding Contacts
- Go to My Network in the sidebar
- Open the tab for the type you want, then click the Add button. It's labeled for that tab (for example Add Lender or Add Owner)
- Confirm or change the contact type in the form
- Fill in the details (name required, others optional)
- Save
Contact Fields
Each contact can have:
- Name (required)
- Phone
- Company
- Website
- LinkedIn URL
Contacts can also carry private notes that only you can see. Right now those notes come in through CSV import, not the Add or Edit Contact form.
Linking Contacts to Deals
Connect contacts to specific deals to track who's involved:
- Open a contact's detail page
- Click Attach to Deal
- Select the deal from your pipeline
- Add a role description (e.g., "Listing broker", "SBA lender")
Activity Logging
Track every interaction with your contacts:
- Emails: Sent or received
- Calls: Phone conversations
- Meetings: In-person or video
- Notes: General notes or observations
Activity logs appear on both the contact's page and the linked deal's timeline.
